Sausage Brussels Bake w/Maple Mustard Drizzle.

My husband and I used to visit an amazing German restaurant near our home in Michigan. One of my favorite things to order was a selection of various sausages with accompanying mustards. We recently moved and have not yet found a restaurant like it, but as a nod to that dish I have discovered a delicious, simple-to-make sausage and brussels sprout bake. Not only does it satisfy the craving, but it is an easy, make-ahead, one-pan meal that feeds few or many. I have seen several variations of this tasty bake. Here is my humble contribution.

MAKE IT.

Ingredients.

1 lb Bacon

14 oz Sliced Smoked Sausage

2 lb Brussels Sprouts

½ Cup Honey Mustard

½ Cup Real Maple Syrup

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

1 Tsp Pepper

1 Tsp Salt

Preheat oven to 375°.

Step 1.

Prepare brussels sprouts by trimming stem ends and cutting in half or quarters, depending on size. Place in a zip lock bag with 2 Tbsp Olive Oil and 1 Tsp each of salt and pepper. Toss until well coated and transfer to a 9x13 baking pan.

Step 2.

Cut a 14 0z package of smoked sausage into 12 inch slices. Add to pan of brussels sprouts and stir together.

Step 3.

Slice bacon into small pieces, (app ½ inch). Sprinkle on top of brussels sprouts mixture. Do not mix in. Place on middle rack in a 375° oven for 30 mins. Remove from oven and stir together. Return to oven and bake for 10 more minutes. It's finished baking when sprouts are tender.

Step 4.

While that's baking whisk together ½ cup honey mustard and ½ cup maple syrup.

Serve alongside your beautiful Sausage Brussels Bake.
